This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your data. It applies to your use of the HumAIn Core mobile app and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy.
We follow applicable data protection laws (including UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Depending on your location, additional rights may apply.

We are the Data Controller responsible for your personal data.
3.1 Account Data
Email address, date of birth (for 16+ age verification), preferred display name, and account identifiers (e.g., Firebase UID). We store date of birth with us, but we do not send date of birth to Mixpanel or Sentry.
3.2 User-Generated Content
Content you submit in the Service, including text messages, images, voice notes, and any “Memories” you choose to save. AI-generated responses are also stored as part of your conversation history. We store chat messages and AI responses in our database (Firebase Firestore). We store images and audio you upload, and audio generated by the Service (e.g., text-to-speech), in secure cloud storage (Firebase Storage).
3.3 Memories (Optional)
You can choose to save “Memories” to help personalise your experience. Memories may include preferences, routines, comfort items, pet names, milestones, and other information you ask the Service to remember. In some cases, the Service may suggest or save certain information to Memories to improve continuity. You can delete Memories at any time.
3.4 The Whiteboard (Shared Notes, Optional)
The Service includes a “Whiteboard”, which is a shared note space visible to all humAIns on your account. The Whiteboard is only updated when you explicitly ask a humAIn to add something. You can delete Whiteboard items at any time.
3.5 Sensitive Information
You may choose to share sensitive information (for example, mental health, sexuality, religion, or political views) in chats, Memories, or on the Whiteboard. We do not require you to provide this information. If you share it, we process it only to provide the Service features you request (such as conversation, memory, and whiteboard functionality).
3.6 Technical Data (Service Operations)
App version, device and OS information, local device time, and push notification tokens (if you enable notifications).
3.7 Optional Analytics Data (Mixpanel)
If you opt in to Analytics, we collect usage and event data such as session duration, features used, navigation/interaction events, app version, device and approximate region information (e.g., country/region/timezone), and an age band (not your date of birth). We do not send chat messages, images, or voice content to Mixpanel.
3.8 Optional Diagnostics Data (Sentry)
If you opt in to Diagnostics, we collect crash and error information such as error messages, stack traces, app version, device/OS details, performance signals, and a pseudonymous user identifier (Firebase UID). We do not enable session replay.
3.9 Payment Data
Handled by Apple/Google. We receive subscription status and related entitlement information, but we do not receive or store your payment card details.
3.10 Marketing Data
If you opt into marketing emails, we store your email address and preferred name for newsletters and product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
4.1 To Provide the Service (Contract)
Account creation and authentication, AI conversations, memory features, whiteboard features, image and voice processing, subscription entitlement checks, personalisation, and safety protections.
4.2 Optional Analytics (Consent)
If enabled, we use Mixpanel analytics to understand feature usage and improve the Service.
4.3 Optional Diagnostics (Consent)
If enabled, we use Sentry diagnostics to detect crashes, troubleshoot errors, and improve stability.
4.4 Support and Communications
Responding to support requests, account-related messages, security notices, and (if you opt in) marketing emails.
To provide the Service, we send relevant content to our AI providers, including OpenAI (to generate chat responses from your text and images), Deepgram (speech-to-text), and Hume (text-to-speech). These providers act as data processors on our behalf.
We use these providers to generate responses, transcribe voice notes, and produce audio output. Where available, we configure providers to reduce long-term retention.
We use trusted third parties to help operate the Service. Depending on features you enable, these may include:
Firebase Authentication, Firestore (EU region), Firebase Storage (hosting and data storage)
OneSignal (push notifications, if enabled)
Mixpanel (analytics, only if you opt in)
Sentry (diagnostics, only if you opt in)
MailerLite (marketing emails, only if you opt in)
Apple/Google (subscriptions and entitlement status)
If you enable push notifications, we use OneSignal to deliver service-related notifications (for example, when you can resume a conversation after a paywall cooldown, or when an app update is available).
We do not include your chat content in push notifications.
You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.
Your data may be processed outside the UK depending on the location of our service providers. Where required, we use approved transfer mechanisms such as SCCs and/or the UK IDTA.
Active users: We retain your account data and user content while your account is active.
Account deletion (our systems): When you delete your account, we delete your chats and associated content stored by us and remove your access to the Service.
Third-party analytics/diagnostics (optional): If you previously opted into Analytics (Mixpanel) and/or Diagnostics (Sentry), we delete or anonymize identifiers associated with your account within 30 days of your deletion request and request deletion with the relevant providers within that timeframe. Provider completion times may vary.
Memories and Whiteboard: You can delete Memories and Whiteboard items in the app; deletions are intended to be immediate and irreversible.
Conversation deletion: Deleting a conversation deletes that conversation history stored by us. Memories and Whiteboard items remain unless you delete them separately.
Privacy Preferences: You can opt in or out of Analytics (Mixpanel) and Diagnostics (Sentry) in the app’s Privacy Preferences.
Marketing: You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in emails or contacting us.
Under applicable data protection laws you may have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your data, restrict or object to certain processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on consent. You can also lodge a complaint with the UK ICO.
We do not sell your personal data.
We share personal data only with service providers who help us operate the Service (as described above), and only to the extent necessary to provide the Service, comply with law, or protect the safety and integrity of the Service.
We use encrypted transmission (TLS), encrypted storage (Google Cloud), hashed passwords, access controls, monitoring, and logging. No system is completely secure; protect your devices and credentials.
The Service is for 16+ only. We delete accounts identified as underage.
We may update this Privacy Policy. Significant changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use after updates signifies acceptance where permitted by law.
